Going through things to upload in my queue and forgot I had these edits from one of @akanemnon's Twin Runes pages from a long while back. I debated for a bit on whether this is something I'd throw up or not because of Kris' scar not being very visible from the angle used. Decided to share the edit since I was more interested on what Kris' appearance would be without the shade over their face.

My part of an art trade with @akanemnon, featuring their AU version of Frisk based on their Twin Runes webcomic! 💚

I've been following Akane's Twin Runes for a while now, so getting to model this little nugget has been a blast! Since their version of Frisk is so unique, I decided against reusing my own Frisk model to make this one from scratch.

If you are a fan of either Undertale or Deltarune, I highly recommend that webcomic. I don't usually engage with AU stuff, but this one is absolutely an exception. It's super charming and well made, the characters feel canon, the art is amazing and the story is compelling and written with a lot of care.

Sat down recently and realized, "Hey, I'm really enjoying Twin Runes and I haven't drawn anything for it yet! I need to fix that!!"

So had to draw the Dark World versions of Frisk and Chara! They're both so cute and I love their DW outfits, very fitting for them!

it's been a little bit, so here's a sprite i just did today!

i normally try to minimalize the colors of sprites, but i just ignored it for this sprite lol this was fun! i don't usually sprite humans, so this was admittedly pretty hard, but i'm happy with the results!

i didn't know how tall twin runes kris is compared to deltarune kris lol, forgive me if it's wrong

OKOKOK WAIT. I LOVE CHARA'S LITTLE SMILE AT TORIEL'S PUNS Side note, is Asgore a druid and Toriel a... warlock? Sorcerer? One of the spell casting classes

Toriel is one of the spellcasting classes. I'm a fan of D&D from afar, but I don't know the different classes well enough to come to a concrete conclusion which of the classes she would fall under. Her design is loosely inspired by priests and such. A priest who would set you on fire...

As for Asgore, his design is based on the classic White Mage design from the Final Fantasy series. But technically, yeah, he'd classify as a druid, I suppose? Though it's going more in the direction of plant magic rather than transforming into animals.

A lot of AUs have already come up with the idea of the Toby Fox-verse crossing over with itself, specifically for Frisk and Kris to meet. Of the crossovers, the one that sticks out the most definitely goes to @akanemnon's Twin Runes series. Above having a very unique art style, it balances out everything a Toby Fox game would; humor, characterization, lore, setting, and right now (as of this post) it's not afraid to explore certain upcoming character arcs.

Craziest thing above all is that Twin Runes is only just a side project! The real project is coming shortly after this series concludes, promising to be even bigger! If this is a taste of that main project, then we're in for a world of feels down the line.

And now we have all three humans, 3 years older!

I'm not sure if they would actually even exist, because we have no idea how the story of TwinRunes unfolds, of course. It's a fun hypothetical, though. A few of my clarifications or headcanons on Chara and the others:

Chara's capelet has a golden ribbon shaped like a tail sewn onto it.

Chara is mimicking the little ahoges that Frisk and Kris have, but more like horns. They use a 'totally magical totally legit darkner magic' hair straightener to do so.

They also have two thin braids in their hair which they tie back into the centre, reminiscent of a time in childhood that Asriel braided their hair with golden flowers weaved into it.

I feel like Ralsei would be like a brother to Chara, but they would never admit they feel that because of how things were with Asriel.

Frisk is the only one who doesn't experiment with their hair, since they've always only wanted a long flowing mane of hair. Kris and Chara both try out different styles.

Chara can grow body and facial hair, but they shave it in order to appear neater and more innocent (they're a scoundrel, it helps them get away with things)

He dyed his hair pink, it's my favourite Rals headcanon :3

And he kept the twinribbon

And he has a tiny bit of stubble for the opposite reason as Chara: he wants to look all tough and manly and princely (b!?ch, he's adorable)

And he now has a crown because he has more authority over his kingdom.
